About Us
Albany County SAFE Project was founded in 1980 by
Jane Warren. SAFE bought its previous shelter building in the late
1980s, and purchased its present office space at
SAFE Project works closely with a number of organizations and agencies to ensure that victims and survivors have their needs met. SAFE Project coordinates the local Sexual Assault Response Team to better facilitate collaboration between health agencies, police officers, emergency responders, and the criminal justice system.
