When reporting child abuse or neglect to the Department you will be connected to a DFS caseworker. They will ask you:​

• Your name and phone number

• The name and birthday of the child

• The name and phone number of the parents

• The name of the suspected abuser

• The nature of our concern for the child

If you do not have all of the information, that is okay. Based on the information provided, DFS caseworkers will decide whether to open a case or not.
