DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY SERVICES

The Wyoming Department of Family Services’ work centers around three values. First to help people feel safe at home, next to give families opportunities for success, and lastly to support the people who support the families.

REPORTING CHILD ABUSE OR NEGLECT

When reporting child abuse or neglect to the Department you will be connected to a DFS caseworker. They will ask you:

  • Your name and phone number

  • The name and birthday of the child

  • The name and phone number of the parents

  • The name of the suspected abuser

  • The nature of our concern for the child

If you do not have all of the information, that is okay. Based on the information provided, DFS caseworkers will decide whether to open a case or not.

All of our services are free and confidential. We do not discriminate for access to services on the basis of real or perceived race/ethnicity, language, sex, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, (dis)ability, social class, economic status, education, marital status, religious affiliation, residency, HIV status, sexual preference, or national origin.
