Where the Wild Things Are: A Healing Retreat
As a passionate believer that the environment heals, Rob wanted to share the healing nature of the environment with those experiencing trauma and crisis. Rob orchestrated an opportunity for SAFE Project clients to commune with nature and take a time out from their stressful lives. Partnering with the Sierra Club, Rob provided transportation, organization, staffing, and food for a group of 25 women and children to participate in a retreat. The group traveled to Vedauwoo where they participated in mindfulness exercises, nature walks, and s’mores making. The clients that were in Rob’s group had a wonderful time and still talk about the respite that they felt while they were involved.
